A very impressive platter by Japanese National Treasure, Tatsuzo Shimaoka. The dish demonstrates “Jomon-zogan” which combines cord-impressed decoration with a slip glaze inlay. There are also incredibly vibrant use of red iron oxide and a pool of turquoise celadon in the centre of the dish.
