A very impressive platter by Japanese National Treasure, Tatsuzo Shimaoka. The dish demonstrates “Jomon-zogan” which combines cord-impressed decoration with a slip glaze inlay. The decoration of the bowl is a slip trail pattern in an abstract expressionist spirit.
