New Arrivals: Japanese Antiques

A lovely collection of new objects have recently arrived from Japan. This shipment includes many popular favourites, including ceramics as well as a unique octapus jar. Make sure to browse the collection before things go!

Pictured above is the Octapus Jar. The ceramic is wrapped in a thick rope that delicately drapes around its shape when it is displayed.

There are also a few smaller items, including a Brass Tray with a Dragon Engraving as well as a Japanese Ceramic Tea Container. Each are a wonderful option for a thoughtful holiday gift. Both pictured below.

We have also received a very impressive platter by Japanese National Treasure, Tatsuzo Shimaoka (pictured below). The dish demonstrates “Jomon-zogan” which combines cord-impressed decoration with a slip glaze inlay. There are also incredibly vibrant use of red iron oxide and a pool of turquoise celadon in the centre of the dish. Comes with a signed wood box, stand and purple cloth.

New Showroom Arrivals from Koyori

The Makuri Lounge Chair and Ottoman arrived yesterday in the showroom! Both are done in oak wood and have upholstered seating using Kvadrat’s Savanna fabric.

We have also received a variety of small tables by Koyori in both oak and walnut. Each blends light and dark wood tones in their construction. This juxtaposition of contrasting hues creates a dynamic visual effect, evoking the harmony found in nature's own creations. The tables also feature a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing for creative compositions and versatile arrangements.

Nedre Foss: Sirkel Tea Light Holder

A special mention of these captivating small objects by design team Anderssen & Voll for Nedre Foss. Sirkel is the Norwegian word for Circle. The color intensity shifts with the changing thickness of the material, leaving the impression of a solid ring of denser color. These make beautiful gifts for the holiday season!

Sirkel can also be used as a container for a small ikebana arrangement (as pictured above) or to hold small food items for hosting, such as sugar cubes or olives.
