A delicate hand-made ribbon shade is offset by a sturdy bronze cylindrical base.
The lamp stem is topped by a natural leather grip for a rustic feel. Reminiscent of humanity's oldest Greek columns, Dórica is a symbol of strength.
Jordi Miralbell and Mariona Raventós were a pair of design artisans who created different pieces of lighting and furniture, and tackled numerous projects together; amongst others, they were editors and partners at Santa & Cole. The poetic shapes of their lamps, crafted in materials such as parchment, raffia or cotton, offer different ways of lighting that reflect the essence of the creative duo: Design is the art of transforming the utilitarian into an object of desire, made with human warmth.
Santa & Cole is a small, independent and global editor of design products, with its roots in Belloch (Barcelona, Spain), since 1985. Their mission is to build, safeguard, and disseminate knowledge through design objects whose quality is recognizable at the touch of a hand, and that enrich people’s lives, whether at home or in shared environments.
