A flower vase made with iron glazed painted over white slip. This type of painting is inspired by work from Yi-Dynasty Korea.
Ando Minura begin his life as a painter and even won the Kokuga Kai National Painting exhibition in 1957. Eventually he would begin to focus more on pottery and calligraphy opening his kiln in TeirinJi Temple in 1973 and finally setting up a kiln in Gifu city Ceramics Village in 1985. He would continue to exhibit ceramics, paintings and calligraphy through the rest of his life. This particular vase comes with a special wood box that has been signed and stamped by the artist.
